3 PICTURE PERFECT Places to Take Pictures in Memphis

Searching for places in Memphis to take family pictures?  There are several indoor and outdoor venues in Memphis that offer a great backdrop for family photoshoots. In the spirit of helping others, here is a list of three of our favorite photoshoot locations around the Memphis and surrounding areas:

Places to take photos outdoors in Memphis| Collierville Square: Tucked perfectly in the heart of Collierville, Colliverville Square is a public shopping and recreational area in Collierville, TN that provides a backdrop full of character. During the holiday seasons, there are decorations and Santa Claus. During the warmer months, there are also lots of beautiful, colorful blooms. Whether you desire a clean, light and airy session or a bold and colorful session, there are several options for pictures at the Collierville Square.

Places to take pictures outdoors in Memphis| The Brooks Museum: I have been a photographer in Memphis for over two years and it wasn’t until recently that I made my way over to Brooks Museum. Another outdoor place to take pictures, the museum provides a classy, upscale backdrop. I have used this venue to capture branding sessions and family portraits. If someone is looking for an upscale look for an outdoor session, Brooks Museum would be at the top of my list.

Places to take pictures indoors in Memphis| The Crosstown Concourse

As much as I love natural light photography, there are times when a client needs or simply prefers an indoor venue. I typically use an indoor venue more often during the winter months and when capturing small children. One of THE best places to take pictures indoors at no cost in Memphis is the Crosstown Concourse. While one might imagine all photos in one location would appear similar, that is not the case with the concourse. With plenty of natural, ambient lighting from the huge windows, this venue offers an assortment of creative backdrops. If you want your pictures to look different from others taken in this location, the key is being open to move around and being creative. If the weather cooperates for just a little bit, there are also outdoor murals and neutral areas around the perimeter of the building perfect for capturing portraits.

Now these are not the ONLY nice places to take pictures in Memphis, these three just happen to be three of my favorite. I can appreciate that each of these locations are safe, clean and free of charge. I believe with those three features and my creative direction, any photo session attempted at either of these locations will be a win!
